Logitech Unveils Wireless Guitar Controller
The Wireless Guitar Controller Premiere Edition uses authentic materials, including a wood neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets.
Following in the footsteps of Starpex and other premium Guitar Hero controller manufacturers, Logitech unveiled its Wireless Guitar Controller Premiere Edition on Thursday. The high-end digital axe uses authentic materials, including a wood neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets to improve upon the plastic controllers that come with the game.
Besides taking on a classier appearance and feel, the Premiere Edition picks up premium internal hardware from Logitech. For instance, the rubber-dome technology used in its fret board controls is the same used in Logitech keyboards, helping minimize noise, and it uses a 2.4GHz transmitter to give it a wireless connection with about 30 feet of range. Logitech also includes a neck slide and star power button for use in World Tour.
The guitar is compatible with all of the Guitar Hero games on PlayStation 3, along with the Guitar Hero World Tour games for PlayStation 2. Logitech will release it in December for $250.
